School Size and Its Relationship to Student Outcomes and School Climate
The New York Times reports education researchers find too little data to pick K-8, 7-9 grade configuration over any other particular grade configuration - "School is still out" on switching form middle school grades to K-8 setups. Quality instruction still the most important singular factor in student achievement.

The only reason for a school board, a state or local superintendent, or school business official to exist is to assure financial resources are directed to the educational needs of students.
